Skin Clinic in Nags Head

Discover the Sanctuary for Your Skin

Did you know that your skin is the heaviest organ in your body? Even though it’s only a few millimeters thick, your skin alone can weigh anywhere between 7.5 and 22 pounds and can cover an area of around 6.5 feet. This means that your skin is your largest organ.

And that’s exactly what your skin is: an organ. It works to protect your body from the surrounding environment, plays a huge role in your metabolism, and has its own microbiome that helps with our immune system function.

BeachGlo Aesthetics is more than a med spa—we are also a skin clinic in Nags Head. We know that if your skin doesn’t look its best, then it most likely isn’t functioning the way it should.

Especially with summer coming to an end, we understand if you haven’t been diligent in caring for your skin. That’s why we offer a comprehensive variety of treatments to revitalize your skin and improve your naturally beautiful complexion.
Our Skin Rejuvenation Services

Facials

From acne to wrinkles, you can tackle specific skin concerns with our facial options. We offer a variety of custom facials that infuse your skin with the vitamins and nutrients your skin needs to become healthy and hydrated. when you make facials a part of your regular monthly skincare routine, you can create long-lasting improvements to your skin’s health and appearance. We use Epicuren products with our facials. This skincare line promotes natural, organic and vegan ingredients that are effective yet gentle on skin. If you love the products used in the facial, they are available in the office to take home.

Emface

Emface combines monopolar radiofrequency (RF) and high-intensity facial electric stimulation (HIFES) to improve the muscle tone within your face and tighten skin. While the thermal energy from the monopolar RF increases collagen and elastin production for tighter skin, the HIFES energy improves the density of your facial muscles. This gives you more “lift” in the targeted area, which works to restore your youthful complexion. It can also combat the double chin for a more sculpted appearance.

HydraFacial

The HydraFacial delivers the ultimate cleansing experience for your skin by combining unique vortex technology with a mixture of glycolic and salicylic acid. This removes dirt, debris, toxins, and more from your pores. A hydrating serum is applied to deliver the nutrients your skin needs. Then, we select a customized booster to treat individual concerns, making each treatment individualized while using red and blue light therapy to improve results.

IPL Photofacial

At our one-of-a-kind med spa and skin clinic in Nags Head, we’re excited to offer the IPL photofacial to correct pigmentation issues, sun damage, and more. This revolutionary piece of technology uses flashes of infrared and broad-spectrum light to destroy excess pigment and superficial blood vessels. Your skin absorbs the damaged cells, leaving you with a clearer complexion.

VI Peel

This medium-depth peel helps create smoother and revitalized skin by using a customized chemical solution to remove the dead skin cells from your epidermis. This causes your body to increase collagen and elastin production, which assist in the process of generating healthy skin cells for smoother, brighter, and happier skin. The VI Peel has 5 different options to address specific concerns and offers a body peel to help treat acne off the face.

CoolPeel

The Tetra CO2 CoolPeel laser delivers comfort and efficacy into one stellar skin rejuvenation treatment. This laser gently ablates that top layer of your skin, removing dead skin cells from your epidermis while simultaneously stimulating collagen and elastin production in the dermis. This will help your body to create healthier cells for smoother skin. This is an excellent fall/winter treatment to address pigment, fine lines, texture and pore size.

Exion RF Microneedling

One of our most popular treatments at our skin clinic in Nags Head, Exion RF microneedling, combines radiofrequency and traditional microneedling to multiply the benefits for your skin. Both treatments alone increase collagen and elastin production, but together, they stimulate improvements up to 8mm deep into your skin. This treatment can be used on both the face and body for tightening.

Fillers

You may wonder how fillers improve your skin, but BeachGlo is a provider of the award-winning RHA Collection. This line of fillers carefully and gently processes their solutions to preserve the structure of hyaluronic acid (HA), maintaining its resemblance to the HA in your skin. This helps create hydrated, natural-looking results as the filler adapts to your dynamic, authentic expressions and movements.

The More You Grow, the More You Glow

Understanding how your skin works is the first step toward improving its health and appearance. Here are the 5 top tips and tricks to maintaining your glowing complexion.

1. Skincare Is Self-Care

Lasting skin results take more than in-house treatments at our skin clinic in Nags Head. Think of taking care of your skin like going to the dentist; you wouldn’t just go to the dentist once and believe your teeth are healthy for the rest of your life. You need to get regular check-ups, brush your teeth twice a day, and floss once a day to maintain clean and healthy teeth.

The same logic applies to your skin—your skin needs regular maintenance treatments with our BeachGlo team, along with an established at-home skincare routine to keep up with its health in between visits.

But don’t worry—we can help you with skincare, too.

On top of our in-house treatment consultations, our team can help you find the best products to complement your skin type and services. Our medical-grade skincare products aid in your skin’s regenerative processes, delivering daily cleaning, nourishment, and hydration.

2. Make SPF Your BFF

While sunscreen should be a part of your skincare routine, you should be applying it multiple times a day instead of just once or twice like you would do with your other skincare products. Sunscreen can wear off from sweating, swimming, friction, and other factors, making it less effective as the day goes on. Even if the day is cloudy or if you are indoors for most of your day, you will need to reapply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours to protect your skin.

The type of sunscreen you use is also important. According to The Mayo Clinic, you should use a sunscreen with a minimum sun protection factor (SPF) of 15 for ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays, as well as a minimum SPF 30 for broad spectrum sun exposure. We offer Elta MD all mineral sunscreen in our office. Our team applies this FDA-approved from head to toe after treatment to provide your skin the protection it needs.

While getting a sunscreen with a higher SPF can provide better protection for your skin, a study by the National Library of Medicine shows that sunscreens with a SPF higher than 50 do not provide any additional skin protection. Our team can help you find the best sunscreen for you at our skin clinic in Nags Head.

3. Water You Waiting For?

Giving your skin the nutrients it needs is the first step toward maintaining its health, one of the most essential among them being water.

While your entire body benefits from being well hydrated, your skin especially needs water to maintain elasticity, which helps to prevent wrinkles, inflammation, and blemishes. According to the National Library of Medicine, women should be drinking around 9 cups of water a day for women and men should be drinking around 13 cups a day.

Another way to keep yourself hydrated is by avoiding alcohol, tobacco products, and caffeine. These products actually dehydrate your body, and regular use can lead to the premature aging of your skin.

4. Ready to Eat Healthy? Kale Yeah!

It’s not just water your body needs to keep your skin healthy, but a lot of other vitamins and nutrients too, like Omega-3, antioxidants, and phytonutrients. According to the Cleveland Clinic, these are the best foods to provide your skin the nourishment it needs:

  • Herring
  • Mackerel
  • Salmon
  • Tuna (bluefin and albacore)
  • Sardines
  • Flaxseeds
  • Chia seeds
  • Walnuts or almonds
  • Edamame
  • Canola or soybean oil
  • Tomatoes
  • Citrus fruits
  • Bell peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Strawberries
  • Kiwi
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Green tea
  • Grapes
  • 60% to 70% cacao chocolate

What’s great about BeachGlo is that we have amazing local resources for fresh fish and‌ produce because of our proximity to the ocean.

5. Show Your Skin Some TLC

When it comes to cleansing your skin, there is a right and a wrong way to go about it. While our team can explain in greater depth during your skin consultation, this is what we tell everyone at our skin clinic in Nags Head:

When cleansing, use warm water instead of hot water. Using hot water can dry out your skin faster, and over time, this can lead to the premature aging of your skin and the destruction of your skin barrier. Using warm or lukewarm water is best when cleansing your skin both at night and in the morning.

We also do not suggest washing your face more than twice a day. Your skin has its own microbiome that maintains your skin barrier. Washing your face more than twice a day can remove the “good bacteria” from your microbiome, which can slowly break down your skin barrier over time.

Last but not least: be gentle when washing your face. There is no need to scrub or irritate your skin while using your cleanser. It’s best to gently massage the cleaner all across your face for about 2 to 3 minutes before rinsing. This limits the irritation to your skin while still providing a deep cleanse to your pores.
